Kitchener city hall wedding and a backyard reception

COVID-19 has been the crux of many a wedding plan, and these two leaned into a city hall ceremony and a small backyard reception. It was wonderfully moving and fun. We wandered downtown Kitchener and found lots of inspiration in Victoria Park and with the beautiful mural work. Including the first house, the couple lived in together. Ending the evening in a low-key backyard fire, the guest favors a sampler pack of homebrew craft beer! On the menu, individually wrapped gourmet sandwiches and decadent pie slices. I have been awed by the creativity and love as couples have navigated their way to celebrate within the boundaries of a pandemic.

The Engagement Session took place during quarantine…

Rachel and Geoff booked me one week before the first lockdown. Little did we know how wild things would get!

However, we decided to go along with our original engagement session keeping our distance. I believe we captured those quarantine vibes. A sense of humour is probably the best quality to have in a successful relationship, and these two have it in spades!

Wedding planning in the time of COVID-19 be like…

A sense of humor and a whole lot of love with these two! Spotting the green dumpster bin, the joke was, “What a dumpster fire this year has been, wouldn’t it be funny if…? Heck yes, I was all over that idea!

The resulting photos captured their unique love story and excitement, celebrating against all odds, with humor.

It was a pleasure being a part of it and sharing their joy!
